Doombient Recording
So back in July I had an opportunity to play an event with the excellent Colorado Modular Synth Society . Though I’d been collecting modules for a while I’d never really performed for anyone. Right around this time, some life changes left me with a little extra free time so I decided to give it a shot and was warmly welcomed by the CMSS folks.
The event was called Doombient, which is a form of music I’d known basically nothing about.
There were several local (kickass!) artists, 10 minute format, the only rules were: had to be brooding dark ambient, minimal screeching. The venue was Trve Brewery down on South Broadway in Denver, who were also fantastic (be sure to check out Music City Chicken in the back, absolutely killer pub vittles!)
Even though basically nothing about my set went as planned (lol modular), it was an incredible learning experience and the CMSS were very welcoming and accepting. Huge props out to Soto and crew.
Explanations and excuses aside, here’s a slightly volume-doctored version of my set. Thank you for listening!
